Sister Act is a high-energy, feel-good musical comedy based on the 1992 film of the same name. The story follows Deloris Van Cartier, a bold and brassy nightclub singer in 1970s Philadelphia who witnesses a murder committed by her gangster boyfriend, Curtis.
To protect her, the police place Deloris in the last place anyone would expecta convent. Disguised as Sister Mary Clarence, shes forced to trade in her sequins for a habit and try to blend in with the traditional and tightly-run nuns of Queen of Angels Church.
At first, Deloris struggles with the strict rules and religious life, but everything changes when she takes over the struggling church choir. With her infectious energy and musical talent, she transforms the timid group of nuns into a powerhouse gospel choir that starts drawing huge crowdsand unexpected attention.
But the bigger the spotlight, the greater the danger, as Curtis and his henchmen close in on her. With the help of the nuns, a sweet cop named Eddie, and a whole lot of faith, Deloris discovers the true power of sisterhood, community, and finding her own voice.
