Local author in Liberty – Gray Basnight for political thriller set in part during Woodstock 50th

June 27 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Free

Join a book discussion & book signing for “Flight of the Fox” in which an innocent math professor tries to decode a mystery file that lands in his in-box while a team of hitmen chase him from Bethel, NY to NYC and down the East Coast. Their goal is to suppress dark government crimes from decades past. His goal is for the truth to be told. The action switches between the J. Edgar Hoover era and Professor Sam Teagarden’s decoding of the mystery file in 2019, in the midst of the iconic Woodstock Festival 50th anniversary. As the professor runs for his life, armed only with his wits and intellect, he worries whether the truth will be told, and if he’ll be seen as a hero whistle blower or a pariah. Or worse, will he end up dead?

Author Gray Basnight has been doing talks, readings and signings around Sullivan County, NY and across the US and Canada. He’s been featured in area media including the Sullivan Democrat, River Reporter, Times Herald Record, and on WJFF Radio.

Here’s some of the buzz about “Flight of the Fox”:
“… a love letter to the classic espionage thrillers of the Cold War… serves as commentary on the state of high-tech surveillance in American life… fun, entertaining read that flies by faster than its own predatory drones … for anyone worried about the machinations of the US government, especially the FBI.” – Editor’s Pick by Foreward Reviews
“…gripping premise … told at a blistering pace … all the good ingredients to be a page-turner: conspiracies, government dishonesty, espionage, and paranoia … an effort worthy of Robert Ludlum.” – Key West Citizen
“An electrifying, propulsive and timely thriller … a tour de force of a government agency that’s so out of control it will do anything to protect itself … could have been ripped right out of yesterdays, todays, or tomorrows headlines…” – Tri Valley Townsman & Mysterious Book Review
