Meditation Course and Silent Retreat with Buddhist Monk Gen Samten Kelsang
April 17 @ 8:00 pm - April 22 @ 8:00 pm$150
In this focused, experiential retreat, we will emphasize two powerful practices.
Je Tsongkhapa’s poetic text “The Three Principal Aspects of the Path to Enlightenment,” is an ancient and revered meditation manual perfectly geared to the challenges of modern life. As all our daily activities transform into the path to increasing and lasting peace and happiness, we discover true satisfaction.
The sadhana and practice of Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of Compassion, is an extremely effective meditation to transform our lonely, self-centered and fearful mind into the open, courageous heart of universal compassion that embraces everyone no matter how insignificant they may seem.
Friday evening through Sunday morning, receive profound and in-depth teachings given by Buddhist Monk Gen Samten Kelsang. Then Sunday afternoon, transition seamlessly into a Guided silent retreat with Gen Samten, where you have the opportunity to bring the weekend’s teachings deep into your heart.
Step away from the noise and distractions of busy daily life and refresh your mind through meditation. Enjoy a relaxed retreat structure & restorative silence. Within the stillness of retreat, we are able to step back from our daily life and focus on what is truly meaningful. Amid the breathtaking and natural beauty of the woodlands and Temple grounds, enjoy the warmth and community of people gathered together to deepen their experience of peace and meaning through meditation. Connect with an experience of inner peace through meditation and leave with practical inner tools to apply to your daily life. Everyone is welcome, we sit in chairs or on meditation cushions and no experience is necessary.
