Shandelee Music Festival and Bethel Woods present Axiom Brass
September 22 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm$35
“P.L.A.Y. the Classics” – the wonderful collaboration between Shandelee Music Festival (SMF) and Bethel Woods Center for the Arts continues on Sunday, September 22, 2019 with a multimedia concert by Axiom Brass.
Dorival Puccini Jr. and Michael Hawes (trumpet), Matthew Bronstein (horn), Corey Sansolo (trombone) and Kevin Harrison (tuba) are the members of Axiom Brass. The concert is called “Limitless” and “will take the audience on a spectacular journey through space, …” featuring visuals created by astronomer Kyle Kremer and an original composition by Mathew Fuerst. Originally begun as an educational program connecting science with art with its captivating compositions and stunning projected images, “Limitless” is now a full concert and unforgettable experience for all audiences.
The two-part program first features a standard concert consisting of early music and original works for brass. The second part includes visualizations, narration, and music commissioned and carefully chosen for this program to tell the story of our universe.
The “San Francisco Classical Voice” said Axiom Brass gave a “stellar performance”; “The Daily Telegram” said “their top-notch musicianship and warm, easy rapport with the audience … made for a really nice, and thoroughly entertaining performance”; and award-winning composer Lauren Bernofsky said “The Axiom Brass has a crystalline beauty of sound that is pure joy to hear …”
Axiom Brass will perform on Sunday, September 22 at 3 p.m. at the Bethel Woods Event Gallery, 200 Hurd Road in Bethel, NY. The venue is fully accessible. The concert will be followed by a specialty dessert reception.
Tickets are $35 for General Admission, $30 for SMF Members, and $10.00 for students 17 and under. More information about the SMF, along with an opportunity to become a member, sponsor a concert and purchase tickets is available at www.shandelee.org or by calling 845-439-3277.
