In this eight-week after school studio arts program, Bethel Woods Teaching Artists Teresa French and Kayli Hussey share their knowledge and passion in the arts, providing guidance and inspiring youth to stretch the limits of their artistic boundaries.
Divided into two four-week units (textile arts and sculpture) each week introduces new skills to add to continuing projects, allowing participants to broaden their horizons, embrace experimentation, and uncover hidden talents.
TEXTILE ARTS UNIT:
Participants will learn techniques working with various textiles, yarn, and weaving.
SCULPTURE UNIT:
Students will learn the different methods for sculpture, experiment with various materials including paper, metal, and upcycled items, in addition to participating in fun structural challenges.
Embrace the opportunity to learn and connect in a space that celebrates creativity.
