On Friday, February 14th, 2025, the Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association (SCVA) had the honor of presenting a check for $7,465.41 to SALT (Sullivan Agencies Leading Together) at our offices in Liberty. This generous donation was made possible through the Silent Auction at SCVA’s 2024 Annual Meeting & Cocktail Party, where tourism partners, business leaders, and community members came together to support an important cause.
SALT is a coalition of community members, business owners, and agencies dedicated to improving the quality of life in Sullivan County. Through collaboration, information sharing, and prevention efforts, SALT works to enhance access to essential services and create lasting, positive change in our community.
The Silent Auction featured over 35 amazing products, services, and experiences donated by local businesses, allowing attendees to bid on exclusive Sullivan Catskills getaways, dining experiences, and unique adventures.
Some of the standout items included:
🏡 A two-night stay at Antrim Streamside
🎭 A dinner and show package at Forestburgh Playhouse
⛳ Golf for four at the Monster Golf Course
🍏 A midweek stay at The Boarding House, plus a Seminary Hill Tasting Room experience
🐝 A day with a master beekeeper at Wilkes Apiary in Bethel Woods
and much more!
The overwhelming participation and generosity of our members and guests helped us raise this impressive total, demonstrating the power of collaboration and giving in the Sullivan Catskills.
Strengthening Sullivan County Together
During the check presentation, SCVA reflected on why S.A.L.T was chosen to donate the silent auction funds to, “All the good work they do empowering our residents and connecting them with people who can help, improve lives in our community and carry it forward,” said Roberta Byron-Lockwood, President and CEO at SCVA.
SALT expressed deep appreciation for the donation, emphasizing that these funds will help advance their initiatives in prevention, resource access, and interagency collaboration. Martin Colavito of S.A.L.T stated “It’s humbling when we do what we do. By putting one foot in front of the other you never think about what you’re doing. And when we started the food effort, we never thought it was going to be as big as it is. You just do it. You don’t think about it.”
The SCVA Annual Meeting & Cocktail Party is always a night to celebrate our region’s successes, but this year, it also highlighted the spirit of giving that defines the Sullivan Catskills. This donation is a reminder that tourism isn’t just about travel—it’s about community, connection, and making a lasting impact.
A heartfelt thank you to all the businesses and individuals who donated, bid, and participated in making this auction a success.
Your support is helping to create a stronger, more connected Sullivan Catskills!
