Fall Festivities You Don’t Want to Miss

There is so much going on this season, it will be difficult to choose just one activity—from live music to street fairs we have everything you are looking for. Roscoe Beer Company Oktoberfest

Celebrate fall at the seventh annual Oktoberfest at Roscoe Beer Company. The family-friendly event will include games for kids and families, live wood carving, Oktoberfest food and beer, hay maze, pumpkin painting, local vendors, plus live music. You must try their award-winning Trout Town beers and yummy food, all while checking out the former firehouse turned brewery and partaking in the day’s activities.

Narrowsburg Honeybee Fest

The Narrowsburg Honeybee Fest is a fan favorite event that celebrates the small but mighty honeybee. The event, held on Narrowsburg’s Main Street, helps to promote awareness, with demonstrations and education about our declining honeybee population. There will also be food, honey, and fun!

When: Saturday, September 25

Callicoon PorchFest

Returning this year, the event offers a full schedule of all free performances that feature local and regional bands, musicians and singer-songwriters in a wide variety of genres. This year’s lineup includes a number of acts that played at the inaugural 2019 event as well as many new-to-PorchFest musicians. They will be playing on some of the loveliest historic porches around Callicoon.

Big Eddy Film Festival

Narrowsburg’s Big Eddy Film Festival showcases the newest and best independent films from around the world and our own backyard. The festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and has a great lineup of shorts, documentaries, and feature films for audiences to enjoy. Screenings will take place at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts and the Krause Recital Hall at the Tusten Theater.

Manhattan Short Film Festival

Film lovers will have another chance to catch some flicks this weekend. The worldwide Manhattan Short Film Festival will premier locally with screenings at the Hurleyville Performing Arts Centre and Fallsburg’s Morningside Park over three days. This free community event for audience members of 15 or older will present 10 international short films with the opportunity to vote for favorite films and best actor/actress.

When: September 29 – October 1

The Big Sip

Bethel Woods Center for the Arts is taking its popular Wine Festival and Craft: Beer, Spirits and Food Festival and creating a brand new experience: The Big Sip. This two-day festival will feature samplings from the finest wineries and distilleries in our region plus a small selection of breweries, an eclectic food court, and live music on the festival stage. Musical performers include Lara Hope & the Arktones and Smash Mouth on Saturday, and The Restless Age and Remember Jones on Sunday.

Peace, Love & Pumpkins

After 40 days of successful light show magic, join Bethel Woods Center for the Arts for their Halloween experience: Peace, Love & Pumpkins 2021. During this family-friendly walk-thru experience, guests will wind through the garden trails of the beautiful grounds, which will highlight unique, hand-carved jack-o-lanterns and glowing pumpkin art. Delight in displays featuring Woodstock festival icons, dinosaurs, mermaids, Big Foot, and more!

Rocky Horror Picture Show Live

The Forestburgh Playhouse presents the Rocky Horror Picture Show each year on the Tavern Stage. The cult favorite musical comedy will have you singing and dancing along with the performers. It’s always a fun time and perfectly themed for the fall and Halloween.

Callicoon Art Walk

The Callicoon Art Walk showcases the growing art and music scene in the picturesque hamlet of Callicoon on the Delaware. The event will highlight the arts in unconventional spaces throughout the hamlet including storefronts and public spaces. There will be public performances, workshops throughout the day, then video projections and outdoor art installations will be featured into the evening hours.

Narrowsburg Logging Days

The third annual Narrowsburg Logging Days will celebrate our heritage with a free, family-friendly event featuring the New York State Lumberjack Association Lumberjack Contest. There will be 10 different competitive events beginning at 11 a.m. and wrapping up around 5 p.m. The day will be filled with other interests for attendees such as an expanded vendor market, musical performances, a baking contest, beard & mustache contest, a kids’ activities area, and educational lectures related to wood and forests, to name a few. But the event doesn’t stop there. On Sunday there will be a historical tour to include a former wood excelsior mill and a Ten Mile River hike showcasing Narrowsburg’s long history in logging.
