SUMMARY:Maple Tapping & Tasting
DESCRIPTION:Join us for this epic annual event co-hosted by Smokey Belles Catskills Artist Homestead at their circa 1955 Cabine and Ye Olde New England House on the picturesque Ten Mile River in Narrowsburg\, NY. Founding naturalist Laura Chávez Silverman will lead a walk through the winter landscape to observe trees (especially maples & birches) and other seasonal flora and fungi. Anie Stanley will demonstrate the traditional method for tapping trees and you’ll taste sap directly from the source\, as well as maple syrup being boiled down right on-site. We’ll gather around the campfire for a variety of chilis*\, buckwheat cornbread with maple butter\, black walnut cake with maple icing and botanical libations\, including crabapple-maple hot toddies\, chaga tea and mulled cider.
