The Liberty Museum & Arts Center is proud to host a new show, Frank Di Modica -Paintings and Drawings. A longtime resident of Monticello, Frank Di Modicas roots as an artist are in music. He attended the prestigious Mannes College of Music in New York, where he was trained as a percussionist. Later as a drummer for the famed local trio, Tryangle, playing the Concord Hotel. There he became friends with the famed artist Morris Katz and became further impressed with the power of painting.
Frank considers himself an old school modernist, drawing inspiration from abstract expressionism, surrealism, and of course music. He approaches his painting with a jazz sensibility. Jazz is his God, he proclaims.
The Liberty Museum and Art Center is located at 46 South Main Street, Liberty NY, across from the Liberty Theater and Key Bank.
