Agloe was the original paper town, a fictitious town put on a map to catch people plagiarizing it. First mentioned in 1925, it has only ever appeared on paper. But it has become a quirky landmark and tourist attraction of the region and is complete with a sign and an old general store that has since closed.

 

Visit the site of the 1969 Woodstock Festival

Celebrating the 1969 Woodstock festival and its impact on the region, the Sullivan Catskills Dove Trail is a collection of 60+ dove sculptures perched in villages, towns, and at several businesses in the area. Each dove is hand painted by a local artist and inspired by the legendary event held here in 1969.

 

Forestburgh Playhouse

 

Come enjoy professional Broadway musicals, plays, and children’s theatre at the Forestburgh Playhouse, a historic 125-year-old barn that has been converted into a theatre. Don’t worry, you’ll be more than comfortable with air conditioning, plus pre and post show dining, cocktails, and cabaret in the adjoining tavern.
