Sinatra: A Cello Show with Alex Prizgintas at the Fallsburg Library

With more than a dozen musical shows under his belt, Alex Prizgintas has a new cello show coming to Dutchess County. This past summer, he released a program for a wide audience: Sinatra. “With more than 270 bookings this year alone, I need to keep a few steps ahead of my rapidly growing audience by developing and producing new shows,” according to Alex Prizgintas, cellist. “My new Sinatra program offers some of the best hits from the Chairman of the Board with a unique cello sound, as well as stories behind Sinatra’s, at times, decisive opinions behind his most famous tunes, as well as other genres of music such as Rock ’n Roll.” Classically trained, Alex employs non-classical tools like guitar pedals and a looping station. Equally comfortable with intimate and stadium settings, Alex can craft his own wall-of-sound. Accompanied by a narration that reveals some of the backstories of Sinatra’s hits, he immerses his audience in a journey through musical history. As Alex says, “In these shows, not only do I gather music but also reinterpret it with tools such as a looping station, guitar effect pedals, a mixer, and an amp, and share it in a format that is part drama, part concert, a bit of storytelling, and mostly a show.” “Sinatra” will be shown on Tuesday, November 17th at 5:00 PM at the Fallsburg Public Library, 12 Railroad Plaza, Fallsburg, NY.
