About Us

The Town of Mamakating – Gateway to Sullivan County. We embrace and enjoy our rural heritage and take responsibility for environmental stewardship. On our two mountains and in our lush valley, you can hike the D&H and O&W trails, kayak the Bashakill, and soar at the nation’s oldest glider airport in Wurtsboro. Our Town Park in Bloominburg offers a beautiful location for everyone to enjoy our Playground, Swimming Pool, Dog Park, Fitness Trail, Basketball & Tennis Courts, Mini Golf and much more. The Town also sponsors several annual events such as the Halloween Party, the Tree Lighting, and an Easter Egg Hunt. The Mamakating Environmental Education Center is great place to learn about our local ecosystem and participate in hands-on programs. The Mamakating Seniors, Mamakating Historical Society, Wurtsboro Art Alliance, Mamakating Lions Club & Bashakill Area Association are some of the organizations that make our community a great place to live and work.
