Birds and Bees

An interactive celebration of the Upper Delaware’s natural environment, supporting restoration of the historic 1896 Callicoon Depot. The event highlights native plants, birds, and pollinators while encouraging environmental stewardship, with hands-on activities for all ages, including:

• Native seed ball and seed bomb workshops
• Owl pellet dissections
• Local honey tastings
• Children’s educational stations
• Bird collision awareness workshop, led by the Sullivan County Audubon Society
• Community stitched tapestry project featuring birds
• Birdhouse design contest, with winners displayed on the Depot grounds

Topics covered include invasive species management, native plant ecosystems, pollinator habitat restoration, and monarch butterfly conservation.
