In The Works ~ In The Woods Theatre Festival

An annual theatre festival founded in 2021 at Forestburgh Playhouse, dedicated to nurturing and celebrating new plays and musicals. Dozens of creators from around the country gather each September to rehearse, rewrite, and share their work — culminating in staged readings of new plays, new musicals, and solo cabaret acts, along with Q&A talkbacks, conversations with renowned theatre-makers, open-mic nights, and tastings by local food and beverage artisans. The festival has helped launch several works toward Broadway success. Presented by Founders Franklin Trapp (Producer) and Matt Lenz (Artistic Director), with funding support from a Sullivan County Arts & Heritage Grant, administered by DVAA.
