SALUTING OUR CITIZEN SOLDIERS
Be among the first to see Sullivan County’s new Minuteman Statue! As part of the nation’s 250th anniversary, the Sullivan County Semiquincentennial Commission invites the public to Minisink Battleground Park for a morning honoring the local militiamen who fought here during the American Revolution.
In July 1779, ordinary farmers and townspeople from the area answered the call and fought at Minisink. It was one of the most significant Revolutionary War battles in the Upper Delaware region. The new statue pays tribute to these citizen soldiers and will be unveiled to the public for the very first time.
