The Wild Pantry

The Wild Pantry invites participants to discover the abundance of edible plants that emerge each spring across fields, forests, and river edges. Together we’ll explore the edible flowers, greens, shoots, and mushrooms that make up the season’s wild pantry while learning how to identify these plants and understand their traditional uses as food.

Guiding the experience is local herbalist and wildcrafter Nathaniel Whitmore, founder of the Delaware Highlands Mushroom Society. Drawing on decades of study in botany, mycology, and traditional plant knowledge, Nathaniel shares a deep understanding of the region’s wild foods and the seasonal rhythms that shape them.

This gathering offers a chance to slow down, sharpen your eye for the edible landscape, and deepen your relationship with the plants that grow all around us—many of which have nourished people here for generations
