Woodstock Festival Gallery Show
August 14 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Celebrate the History, the Stories and the Photographs of the Woodstock Festival at the Woodstock Festival Gallery Show #AtTheCat featuring: Lisa Law – The Photos – The Books and The Story of Woodstock and the Hog Farm.
The Show opening will be from 5pm to 7pm at the Stray Cat Gallery’s newly opened “Visions of #Woodstock Gallery” and then move to the Catskill Distilling Company for the viewing of Lisa Law’s Documentary, Flashing on the 60’s with Lisa Law with acoustic music of Woodstock and the 60’s.
Lisa Law will be On Site to share the Woodstock Experience like few others could! Lisa was a member of the Hog Farm who fed and helped the hundreds of thousands at the Woodstock Festival in 1969 – Get the stories directly from the Horses (oops, I Mean Hippies) mouth! “What we have in mind is breakfast in bed for 400,000” (Wavy Gravy)
The show will also be featuring the Iconic Signed Photos Elliott Landyand Jason Laure, the #Poster Art of Mike DuBois and a newly discovered collection of Original Woodstock Photos from photojournalist Mark Goff that are being presented by artist, Nick Clemente.
Also meet Kim Flynn, our (awesome) resident #artist and the driving force of the #Gallery. We will be displaying her Woodstock themed art in the show and on the growing #Woodstock Themed Park surrounding the Stray Cat Gallery!
Other local artists featuring Woodstock themed art along with the wearable #Peace Signs from the original Fence and the original Stage from the 1969 Festival with their creators on site for those stories too!
Law’s career as a photographer began in the sixties. She began taking pictures of the musicians in the thriving music scene in the Bay Area and Los Angeles and was backstage with The Beatles , Peter, Paul and Mary , Otis Redding , The Lovin Spoonful , and The Byrds , and others taking promotional photographs of Janis Joplin and Big Brother, and making dinner for house guests like Bob Dylan , the Velvet Underground or Barry McGuire.
