Labor Day is an annual celebration of the American labor movement, but it also symbolizes the end of summer and is celebrated with parties, events, and festivals. Organizations and businesses throughout the Sullivan Catskills are ready to celebrate Labor Day Weekend and the end of this amazing summer season.

Rod Stewart with special guest Cheap Trick

Sir Rod Stewart is one of the best-selling artists in the history of recorded music, and he’s coming to Bethel Woods Center for the Arts! His signature voice, style and songwriting have transcended all genres of popular music, including rock, folk, soul, R&B, and the Great American Songbook, making him one of the few stars to enjoy chart-topping albums throughout every decade of his career. The concert is on September 1 and starts at 7:30 p.m.

 

Cabaret: An Evening with Jeanne MacDonald

Join hosts Scott Samuelson + Eddie Dudek as The Bradstan Cabaret Series continues with Jeanne MacDonald on September 3 at 7 p.m. at The Eldred Preserve. Working with musical director Tracy Stark, Jeanne MacDonald debuted her newest show to a sold-out crowd last September as part of The Bradstan Coming Home Cabaret Series at The Eldred Preserve, and she is thrilled to be back for the 2023 season!

 

Harvest Festival at Bethel Woods

The Harvest Festival is an annual farmer’s market much-loved by our community and surrounding region. Harvest Festival celebrates the bounty of local New York farms, talent of local artisans, flavor of homemade specialty food items, and also features live music, food trucks, crafts, special offerings, and more. Held every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

 

Roscoe Beer Co. Tenth Anniversary

Celebrate the tenth anniversary of Roscoe Beer Co. with a party on Saturday from 11 am to 9 pm! There will be delicious craft beer, food, activities for kids and adults, live music all day, and fireworks at night.

 

“Misery” at The Forestburgh Playhouse

Based on the acclaimed novel by Stephen King, Misery follows successful romance novelist Paul Sheldon, who is rescued from a car crash by his “number one fan”, Annie, and wakes up captive in her secluded home. Catch this suspenseful and nail-biting play at The Forestburgh Playhouse on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m.

 

Lei’d to Rest: A Luau Murder Mystery Dinner!

It’s time to break out the Hawaiian shirts and sarongs for one last summer party on Saturday, September 2 at Burn Brae Mansion. But amidst the mai tais and macadamias lurks a murderer! Come ready to party like Don Ho and solve this mainland murder for great prizes! Your ticket includes entertainment and dinner, plus the chance to win great prizes, including a $100 gift certificate. Dress in luau attire and bring your own drinks for a night of mystery and laughs.

 

WJFF Music Yard Sale

Score some incredible musical treasures at WJFF Radio Catskill’s Outdoor Music Yard Sale at their Liberty studios, 2758 RT-52, Liberty, NY 12754. The sale will take place on Saturday from 9 am to 3 pm. You’ll find vinyl, audio equipment, and more! All Proceeds Benefit Radio Catskill.

 

Cabernet Franks Car Show

Come check out this second annual car show at Cabernet Franks in Parksville, NY. There will be cars, trucks, and bikes with trophies awarded at 3 pm. There will also be vendors, live music, 50/50 raffle, and burn out contest.

 

Charles and Carl’s Highway Hootenanny

Join Catskill Brwery for an unforgettable evening of music, laughter, and good ol’ fashioned fun at Charles and Carl’s Highway Hootenanny featuring Nashville musician Ben De La Cour. Bring your friends, family, and even your dancing shoes! The talented lineup of musicians will have you grooving all night long. On Sunday starting at 5 pm.
