SCVA to Join NYSHTA Legislative Networking Breakfast at Resorts World Catskills on February 21st

January 29th, 2025- Monticello, NY – The Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association (SCVA) is proud to participate in the upcoming New York State Hospitality and Tourism Association (NYSHTA) Legislative Networking Breakfast, taking place Friday, February 21, 2025, from 9 AM to 11 AM at Resorts World Catskills in Monticello, NY.

This important industry gathering will bring together state elected officials, hospitality leaders, and tourism professionals for a morning of networking, advocacy, and discussion on key issues impacting the travel and tourism sector.

Roberta Byron-Lockwood, President and CEO of the SCVA, will provide an update on the Sullivan Catskills’ tourism industry, highlighting current business and leisure travel trends and the region’s ongoing contributions to New York’s visitor economy. Mark Dorr, President of NYSHTA, will deliver a legislative update, offering insights into state policies affecting hospitality and tourism and what they mean for businesses in the Sullivan Catskills.

Key legislative topics on the agenda include Short-Term Rental Law (Registration and Tax Collection), ADA Website Lawsuit Bill, Tourism Matching Grants Program, State- Mandated Hotel Heat/AC Bill, Hotel Rewards Data Privacy Bill, Hotel Resort Fees Bill and more.

The Legislative Networking Breakfast is sponsored by Delta, Enterprise, and Highgate and serves as a key opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations about the future of hospitality and tourism in New York.
