What You Need to Apply
Project Vision
A clear project plan with timeline and expected visitor impact, especially overnight stays. Show us how your initiative will strengthen Sullivan County’s tourism economy.
Budget Planning
Detailed budget breakdown with matching funds preferred. Demonstrate financial responsibility and strategic resource allocation. As a general guideline, grant participation should not exceed approximately 20% of the total project cost.
Commitment to Results
Post-project reporting is mandatory. We’re performance-oriented and reward outcomes that demonstrate real tourism impact. Post-project reports are due within 60 days of project completion.
Marketing Strategy
All marketing plans require SCVA approval. We provide consultation, creative development, and media assistance to maximize your impact. All marketing plans and creative must be submitted to SCVA for approval prior to execution. SCVA can also provide consulting, creative and media assistance by request.
Catalyst Grants
New ideas, new audiences, innovation – risk-tolerant funding for first-time or experimental initiatives. Legacy Grants: proven programs with established ROI or room night impact – risk-managed funding.
Grant funds may NOT be used to
- Fully underwrite operational budgets
- Replace core capital investment
- Fund infrastructure unrelated to tourism promotion
- Support initiatives without defined out-of-county marketing
- Serve as primary project financing
- Subsidize projects lacking a measurable overnight visitation strategy
