The Sullivan Catskills Legacy Dove Trail is soaring to new heights in 2025! What began as a collection of 50 Dove sculptures spread across the county is now expanding to 80 unique Doves, strengthening its place as one of the largest county-wide public art trails in the United States. This beloved initiative pays homage to the Catskills’ rich history, community, and vibrant art scene, making it a must-visit attraction for locals and tourists alike.
The Dove Trail, developed by the Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association (SCVA), serves as a symbol of the region’s enduring legacy of peace, creativity, and community pride. Each Dove is more than a sculpture; it’s a tribute to the area’s cultural roots and a piece of an expansive trail that draws thousands of visitors. Standing at an impressive 7 feet long and 5 feet high, each Dove is a striking work of art that transforms the landscape, offering inspiration and beauty to all who encounter it.
This expansion marks a new chapter for the trail, providing 30 additional opportunities for local businesses, municipalities, and non-profits to participate in the region’s iconic art initiative. With a subsidized ownership fee of $1,700 per Dove, SCVA members gain more than just a sculpture; they also receive complimentary shipping, along with marketing and advertising support to promote their Dove. This investment ensures that every Dove remains part of a cohesive, well-recognized network of sculptures that enriches the local community.
However, there are specific requirements for ownership. In keeping with its mission, the SCVA restricts Dove ownership to members in good standing, which includes businesses, non-profits, and municipalities. This ensures that the Doves serve public spaces, accessible to the community and visitors alike. Each owner must adhere to established guidelines and sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to maintain the integrity and purpose of this beloved art trail.
SCVA members interested in owning a Dove are encouraged to act quickly, as the demand for these sculptures is anticipated to be high. Reservations are being accepted now, with a deadline of Monday, December 16, 2024, for full payment and a signed MOU. This early commitment allows each Dove to be thoughtfully installed and ready for display as the trail expands in 2025.

As the Sullivan Catskills prepares for this significant expansion, the Legacy Dove Trail remains a powerful reminder of the area’s commitment to art, culture, and community. With 80 Doves set to grace the county, 2025 promises to be an exciting year of artistic celebration and unity for the Sullivan Catskills.
